15.5 Stage 4 – Build the Dashboard
Steps in Excel (follow Module 13)
- Dashboard sheet: gridlines and headings off, title "Blinkit Maharashtra – Ganeshotsav Report, September 2026", data date and fictional-data note.
- Five KPI cards linked to Calc cells (Net Sales, Delivered Orders, AOV, Cancellation %, On-time %).
- Charts: daily sales line (mark 14-09-2026), city bar with target marker (combo chart, Module 8.5), top categories bar, platform doughnut.
- Slicers for City, Platform, Category and a timeline for Order Date, connected to all pivots.
- Fit to one screen; align and distribute objects.
Worked example – layout. Row 1: title. Rows 3–7: five cards. Left column: slicers and timeline. Centre: trend line full width. Bottom: city vs target combo, top categories, platform share.

In the project, many students put every chart they made in the pivots onto the dashboard – and the dashboard gets crowded. Keep only the charts that answer the 5 questions in the brief. A dashboard is not "show everything"; it is "show what matters".

बरेच students project मध्ये dashboard वर pivot मध्ये बनवलेले सगळे charts टाकतात – आणि dashboard गर्दी-गर्दीचा होतो. फक्त तेच charts ठेवा जे brief मधल्या 5 प्रश्नांची उत्तरं देतात. Dashboard म्हणजे "सगळं दाखवा" नाही, "महत्त्वाचं दाखवा" असतो.

Project में बहुत से students pivot में बनाए सारे charts dashboard पर डाल देते हैं – और dashboard में भीड़ हो जाती है. सिर्फ़ वही charts रखो जो brief के 5 सवालों का जवाब देते हैं. Dashboard का मतलब "सब दिखाओ" नहीं, "जो ज़रूरी है वह दिखाओ" है.
Practice task
Build the dashboard and ask a friend to answer the five brief questions using only the dashboard. Note any question they could not answer and fix the dashboard.
