29.9 Modules 16–19: Drill, Drill Through, Tooltips and Bookmarks

  1. On a column chart with the Location hierarchy, use all four drill buttons and describe what each did.
  2. Show the difference between Go to next level and Expand all down on the Date hierarchy with two years of data.
  3. In a matrix, expand only Pune, then the entire City level; exclude a test store with right-click › Exclude.
  4. Create a drill-through page for Dark Store details (e.g. right-click Hinjewadi or CIDCO) with a Back button. Test Keep all filters on and off.
  5. Add a drill-through button that is disabled until one store is selected.
  6. Create a report-page tooltip that shows AOV and Cancellation Rate for a hovered city.
  7. Turn on modern visual tooltips and use a drill action from inside a tooltip.
  8. Add bookmarks to toggle between a chart view and a table view in the same space (Data unticked).
  9. Build a show/hide filter panel using a grouped rectangle + slicers and two bookmarks.
  10. Build a vertical page navigator side menu and a bookmark navigator for Blinkit / Amazon Now / Both.

Ravindra Bagale's Tip

A common mistake is building drill through and bookmarks and never testing them as a user would. After each exercise, click through every path, including the Back button and the Reset button. It's very simple – just make it a habit.
