24.5 Alerts on Dashboard Tiles
Steps in the Power BI Service
- On the dashboard, hover over a card, KPI or gauge tile (e.g. Avg Delivery Time) › … › Manage alerts.
- + Add alert rule › Alert title: "Avg delivery time above 15 minutes".
- Condition: Above › Threshold: 15. Maximum notification frequency: at most once an hour / once a day. Tick Send me email, too.
- Save and close. Alerts are checked when the data refreshes and are sent to you (the alert owner).
In Fabric-enabled tenants, report visuals may also show Set alert (Fabric Activator) for richer rules and Teams notifications.

A common alert mistake is setting alerts on a tile that isn't a card, KPI or gauge, which isn't supported. Also remember that alerts check after a data refresh, so they are only as current as your refresh schedule. Don't worry – after doing it two or three times, it becomes a habit.
