22.10 Edit Interactions: Filter, Highlight, None
Simple bhashet sangaycha tar, by default, clicking a data point in one visual cross-highlights or cross-filters other visuals on the page. Slicers filter them.
Steps in Power BI
- Select the source visual (e.g. the Platform slicer or the "Orders by City" bar chart).
- Format › Edit interactions (the Format tab appears on the ribbon when a visual is selected).
- Small icons appear on every other visual. Choose one per visual: Filter (funnel: show only the selected data), Highlight (keep the total, highlight the selected part; available on some visuals), or None (ignore the selection).
- Example: set the "Total Orders – all platforms" card to None for the Platform slicer, so it always shows the total.
- Click Edit interactions again to finish.
- Report-wide default: File › Options and settings › Options › Current File › Report settings › Change default visual interaction from cross highlighting to cross filtering.

Friends, many students accept the default cross-highlighting everywhere, so clicking a small chart makes the whole page flash. Use Format › Edit interactions to set Filter, Highlight or None deliberately, especially for KPI cards that should always show the full total. Never forget this.
